Varsity Football · Defense leads Bearcats to Friday Night Victory

The Bearcats were victorious in their home opener last night.  Lead by the defense, the football team posted its first shutout since 2014. Hunter Reif and Damin Ruoff combined for 3 INTs. Josh Bell, Jesse Smith, and Aidan Colson all notched QB sacks. Jonathan Mollencupp was the man in the middle stopping the run on multiple occasions.
On the offensive side of the ball, Bryce Catherman had a rushing and passing touchdown.
The latter was to junior wide reciever Damian Ruoff. Freshman Trey Gibson came up with some big runs for his first varsity start.
Trying to not be out done, the special teams had many great plays. Lucas Bolan had 2 huge open field tackles on kickoffs and Tyler Cook booted a 32 yard FG. Coming straight over from the soccer field Dawson Burkhart had a great night handling kickoffs and punting.
