When over 75% of your roster either breaks a lifetime best or a season best, you could say it was a pretty good day. That was the case for the Wheeler Bearcat Boys Cross Country team this past Saturday in West Lafayette. Nine out of ten competing runners set a record for their time over the season or their career on the fast Harrison course. The top notch competition, great weather, or wide open course could be many of the factors that may have contributed to such fast times.

Senior Stevie Franczek (16:40) once again led the way for his team placing 23rd with teammate Hudson Hall (16:42) rounding into form from an early season set-back placing 28th. The twins Steven and Zach Jarvis kept improving their times running 17:35 and 18:05 respectively. Senior Liam Hostetler rounded out the top 5 in 18:39.

“It was a good day for the team in general, I’m happy to see all the personal bests by the guys.” Coach Luis Guillen said, “We still have lots of season to go so hopefully we continue to get better.”
